Anthony Smith is a young sculptor from Cambridge, UK.

Anthony creates human-figure and wildlife sculptures in bronze, exhibiting in galleries and also undertaking regular commissions.

Recently he was commissioned to sculpt a bust of the great Swedish biologist Carl Linnaeus for the Linnean Society of London. The bust was unveiled at the Society's garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, where the garden was awarded the Silver-Gilt Medal.

The Fleming Family commissioned Anthony to sculpt a bust of Ian Fleming to celebrate the centenary of his birth, which took place on 28th of May 2008. The bust is going to form part of the Fleming Collection's Bond Bound Exhibition, which begins in London and then goes on tour to America, the Far East, the Middle East and Europe (click here for details).

He is currently working on a major new commission for Christ's College Cambridge. He will be sculpting a life-sized bronze of Charles Darwin to commemorate the bicentenary of his birth, which will take place on February 12th 2009.

He was also one of five artists commissioned by the Royal Mint to submit designs for a new £2 coin for general circulation.
